About the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh

The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh originated in Fall 1871.  In 1912, it was expanded it with an Industrial Arts program. During World War I, it founded the Students’ Army Training Corps. In 1927, it became Oshkosh State Teachers College for the first BA/BS majors. In 1963, graduate programs debuted at its 166-acre Winnebago County campus. The University of Wisconsin system acquired it in 1971 and selected the current name. Budgeting $240 million, the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh now serves 14,000 students from 24 countries. It has an 18:1 ratio online and in-person. It has more than 180+ clubs like Random Acts of Kindness. In 2018, its College of Nursing received the prized Jonas Center Foundation DNP Nurse Leader Grant. Twice since 2016, the Green Electronics Council has chosen Oshkosh for the EPEAT Higher Education Purchaser Award. The Model UN team has received 25 Outstanding Delegation Awards in a row. University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Application Requirements

Entering the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh is classified “moderately difficult” by Peterson’s. There is a 68 percent acceptance rate. First-year students must fulfill at least 17 high school core course units or complete the GED certificate. Many freshmen carry over AP and Cooperative Academic Partnership Program credits. The Class of 2021 had a median 3.37 GPA. On average, Oshkosh accepted a 22.7 ACT and 1110 SAT mark. College of Business majors are reserved for junior-level students with 60+ credits graded “C” or higher. The Accelerated BSN requires a non-nursing bachelor’s GPA above 3.25 with prerequisites like Physiology and Biochemistry. Online BA in Criminal Justice entrants need two years of full-time work experience in law enforcement. The Office of Graduate Studies requires bachelor’s holders have a minimum 3.0 GPA and 295 GRE General Test score. Online Nursing MSN or DNP cohorts must verify valid state licensure. The Doctor of Education demands PK-12 Wisconsin certification and three years of administrative work. The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh considers incoming freshmen from September 15th to March 1st. Undergrad transfers have until August 15th for Fall and January 15th for Spring entrance. Master’s and PhD programs each have their own deadlines. For instance, the Executive MBA admits managers only until April 1st. The Online MS in Data Science has a December 11th cutoff. MS in Psychology entrants apply through August 1st. Tuition and Financial Aid

For 2018-19, the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh charged in-state undergrads $7,622 each year. The Midwest Student Exchange Program cost $10,772 annually. Minnesotans had a discounted $8,360 rate.
