About Simpson University

Simpson University is a private university in Redding, California. It was originally located in Seattle, Washington, when it opened in 1921. The university relocated to San Francisco in the 1950s and made a move to Redding in the late 1980s. The school is affiliated with The Christian and Missionary Alliance. It’s a denomination founded by Albert Benjamin Simpson. The school is named after Mr. Simpson. The university originally offered two-year degrees, but it expanded its educational offerings over the next several decades into various liberal arts programs and professional degrees. Today, the university offers a variety of programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The school was elevated to university status in 2004 when it relocated to Redding. The school’s official colors are red and black. The students are nicknamed the Red Hawks.
