About Old Dominion University
Old Dominion University is a coeducational public research university in Norfolk, Virginia. The school derives its name from one of Virginia’s state nicknames, “The Old Dominion.” It was given to the state by King Charles II of England for its loyalty to the crown during the English Civil War. It was founded in 1930 as the Norfolk Division of the College of William & Mary. ODU is now one of the largest postsecondary institutions in the state. Old Dominion University Application Requirements
Freshmen seeking a degree from Old Dominion University must submit an online application and pay a $50 nonrefundable application fee. Other required items include an official high school transcript or proof of GED as well as official SAT and/or SAT scores. Applicants may choose to submit additional items such as:- a 400-word essay on a topic of their choice
