About Limestone College
Limestone College is a private college affiliated with the Christian church. It was established in 1845. It was originally a women’s college and one of the only schools of its type in South Carolina. The main campus in Gaffney, South Carolina dates back to the early days of the school and has several buildings that are on the National Register of Historic Places. There are also seven smaller regional campuses in cities such as Columbia and Florence. While the main campus offers daytime classes, most of the regional campuses offer only evening courses and online classes.Limestone College Accreditation Details
Limestone has accreditation for all of the college’s music programs from the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM). It’s also accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) for all its teaching and education programs. Students can use the regional accreditation held by the college when they use the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to get a financial aid package. That accreditation comes from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).Limestone College Application Requirements
Though all undergrads use the same application when applying to Limestone College, they need to meet different requirements. Most students need to submit a high school transcript or GED score and an ACT or SAT score. The college does not require a score from students in the military or those who are over the age of 21. Students who have a minimum of 12 credits will qualify as transfer students. They need to submit their college transcripts but do not need to provide an ACT/SAT score. Students applying to an online or evening program need to submit an application, high school or college transcript and an ACT/SAT score unless they are 21 or older. Only those with a bachelor’s degree can enroll in the college’s MBA program. The college asks for one letter of recommendation. It encourages students to submit two to show both their academic and professional experiences. They also need to provide a transcript that shows the applicant has a business degree and a GMAT score. Limestone looks for students who have at least one year of business experience too.Tuition and Financial Aid
MBA students will pay $1,950 for each three-credit-hour course that they take. When they do one of the residency sessions, they’ll pay $800 to cover the cost of their on-campus work. An active-duty military discount is available for some students. It drops their cost to $1,650 per course and reduces their residency fees to $700 per session. The university also charges a $5 fee to verify the student’s identity and to prove that he or she qualifies for the discount. Most graduate students receive unsubsidized student loans. Those who cannot get one of these loans may get a federal PLUS loan. Undergrads pay $12,600 per semester for full-time enrollment in a traditional daytime program. Students can choose from several dormitories, which charge $2,282 to $2,973 per term. Those who live on-campus must also buy one of the college’s meal plans and add $2,323 to their costs each semester. Undergrads who take fewer than 12 credit hours pay the college’s part-time tuition rate of $1,050 per credit hour. In both the evening and online programs, students pay $1,323 for each three credit hour class they take and $1,764 for each four credit hour course they take. The college offers a 15 percent tuition discount for active military students that reduces their costs to $729 to $972 per class. Military students also qualify for a grant that reduces their tuition and fees each semester. A corporate grant goes to students who work for any company that partners with the college.
