About Keiser University

Keiser University was established by Arthur Keiser and his mother Evelyn in 1977. It was known as Keiser School back then. During that time, Florida was growing with different businesses and healthcare communities. The Keiser School was created to help prepare students for exactly that. The name of the school was then changed from Keiser School to Keiser Institute of Technology in 1982 after additional paralegal, and computer programs were introduced. Four years later, in 1986, the school became Keiser College after it started to award associate degrees as well. It was in 2001 when the company created its first bachelor’s degree programs. Finally, in 2006, the name of the college was changed from Keiser College to Keiser University. Recently, U.S. News & World Report ranked KU 34th in their new Social Mobility category. Social mobility, according to U.S. News, is realized by providing opportunities to economically disadvantaged students by awarding Pell Grants, which are normally designated for families earning under $50,000 annually.
