Many of its first students transferred their credits to another school. This led to the college adding more bachelor’s programs. Though a separate school opened at the same time for African American students, that school later shut down and sent its students to DSC. DSC went through several name changes before becoming Daytona State College in 2008. This last name change let students know that they could earn full bachelor’s degrees from the college. In addition to other degrees, it offers:- Bachelor of Applied Science
- Bachelor of Education
- Bachelor of Science

Daytona State College Application Requirements
Daytona State College is a public state college. It accepts a large number of students every year. The college requires that students complete an online application and select the program they want to enter. Most of the programs require that students have a high school diploma or a GED. However, some of its programs will accept students who do not have a diploma or certificate. Many of these programs award graduates certificates rather than degrees. There are some programs that only accept students with an associate’s degree. Those programs allow students to transfer from one of the college’s associate’s programs to a bachelor’s plan. It’s important that students know what they want to study before they submit their applications to ensure that they meet all admissions requirements. Some programs ask that students take college classes and maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or higher. They may need to submit letters of recommendation also. The DSC Bachelor of Science in Nursing program requires that students submit two professional letters written by those they work with or who oversee their work. Before completing the online application, students must create a new account with the site. They can select their own usernames and passwords. The application asks students what they want to study and whether they went to college. They will also need to list whether they completed high school and where they went to high school. As long as students submit the application and meet any program requirements, the college will accept them.Tuition and Financial Aid
DSC students pay different rates based on whether they enroll in a degree or a vocational program. The college also charges different tuition rates for Florida residents and nonresidents. Florida students qualify for in-state tuition and pay $2,458 per year. This allows them to take 24 credits. Those same students pay $1,974 per year to enroll in a vocational program. Nonresidents are students who do not live full-time in Florida or did not live in the state when they applied. They pay $9,568 per year in a degree program. Students who are nonresidents will pay $7,896 per year to enroll in a vocational program. DSC estimates that all students will pay around $10,000 a year for room and board and their other living expenses. Students who apply for financial aid can receive a package that includes four different types of aid. They can get a grant from the state that provides them with up to $1,000 each semester. Other grants are available from the federal government, which also offers loans. The federal work-study program gives students the chance to work for the college to earn extra money.
