About the University of Wyoming

The University of Wyoming is located in Laramie, Wyoming. It’s a public university that first opened its doors in 1886. The school is affiliated with the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities. Its existence is codified into the state’s constitution. More than 12,400 students attend the university. There are more than 1,000 academic staff members serving  students. The university’s official colors are gold and brown. Its varsity sports teams are named the Cowboys and Cowgirls. University of Wyoming Application Requirements

Admissions criteria for the University of Wyoming include having:

• an unweighted GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
• a minimum score on the ACT of 21 or a score on the SAT of 1060
• completion of the university’s list of recommended high school classes

High school students should make sure to take:

• four years of math
• four years of science

The university also accepts applications from home school students and applicants who have earned a GED. There are separate application requirements for each graduate program at the University of Wyoming. Students should register with the university’s online WyoWeb to get started with their applications. Accepted students must submit an MMR Immunization form. Tuition and Financial Aid

The estimated cost of attendance for Wyoming residents is $17,122 for undergraduate study. Non-residents can expect to pay $30,862 per year. Children of university alumni can qualify for a reduced rate of $19,297 if they live outside the state. The estimated costs of attendance don’t include books, travel, or personal costs. For graduate students, the cost for Wyoming residents is about $6,289 per year. The cost for non-residents is about $16,009 per year. Children of alumni who live outside Wyoming can qualify for the alumni rate of $8,728 per year. These graduate tuition rates include tuition and fees but don’t include housing and meal costs. International students will pay a different rate than domestic students. To apply for financial aid at the University of Wyoming, students must create an FSA ID with the federal government’s official student financial aid website. They must submit a FAFSA form with the University of Wyoming school code with the submission. The university will receive the student’s application details and will receive a notice with information on financial aid eligibility and options. Financial aid awards may include:
