Students must also complete an internship. The program is available both on campus and online. The Master of Business Administration is available with concentrations in Sport Administration or Accounting. It is for those who want to accept increased responsibility by gaining additional knowledge in the area of business. The program is based on practical professional applications using real-world business situations. Students are able to apply the fundamentals of business knowledge as well as demonstrate advanced research skills. The accounting concentration focuses on financial management and other accounting skills necessary to advance in public, governmental and non-profit organizations. The program fulfills the 150-credit requirement to sit for the Certified Public Accounting examination in most states. About Fisher College

Founded in 1903, Fisher College was originally known as Winter Hill Business College. It was created by Myron C. and Edmund H. Fisher. The original focus of the school was to provide vocational education, prompting a name change in 1910 to the Fisher Business College. The original campus was located in Somerville, Massachusetts, but moved to its Beacon Street location in 1939. During the 1940s, the school was split into two separate colleges, the Fisher School for Men and the Fisher School for Women. It remained that way until 1998 when the schools merged to become co-educational. Today, Fisher College is a private, not-for-profit school with a vision to provide knowledge that brings about a life-changing experience. Programs are built around liberal arts but also provide the tools students need to succeed in their chosen field of study. Fisher College was named by US News & World Report as one of the best regional colleges in the north. It was named one of the best colleges by Money as well.

Fisher College Accreditation Details

Fisher College is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education. This indicates that the school meets or exceeds criteria for the assessment of institutional quality.  It also indicates that the school has the necessary resources to achieve its stated purpose through appropriate programs. Business programs at the college are accredited by the International Accreditation Council for Business Education. Nursing programs are accredited by the Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education.

Fisher College Application Requirements

Undergraduate applicants must provide official high school transcripts as well as official ACT or SAT scores. Transfer applicants must submit:
  • official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
  • letters of recommendation
  • a personal statement
They must be in good academic standing at the last college they attended. If they have earned the equivalent of an associate’s degree, they do not need to provide official high school transcripts or test scores. Graduate applicants must provide official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. One transcript must display the conferring of a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university. A personal essay of 300 to 500 words is required along with two recommendations. Applicants to the MBA program must have a GPA of 2.7 or higher.

Fisher College Tuition and Financial Aid

Full-time undergraduate tuition is $30,997 per year. Graduate tuition is $616 per credit hour. Financial aid is available. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be eligible. Financial aid may be awarded as:
  • grants or scholarships, which do not have to be repaid
  • loans, which must be repaid after graduation
Students who attend on campus may also be offered work-study programs. Graduate students are offered loans to cover the cost of tuition. They may apply for grants or scholarships from outside organizations. They may also be offered assistantships or fellowships if they attend on campus.
